The e-Learning Cooperative steering committee makes fee recommendations which ultimately must be approved by the Provost. Note that the steering committee includes representatives of colleges that are "sending" courses, those that receive courses, and those that may do both; the intention is to set fees that will make it worthwhile for departments to offer courses but at the same time feasible for other units to buy seats in the courses.

Generally, there is a charge of $65.00 per student credit hour that is paid by the receiving campus. Receiving campuses return this portion to the course-providing colleges from total tuition collected. The remaining tuition (as determined by current policy) remains at the "home" campus. There are no other costs involved and no end-user fees for computer use.

However, for 2008 - 2010, Provost Erickson has authorized the offering of strategic online courses through the Cooperative at no cost to the receiving campus or college. The courses included in this program are:

  • ANTH 146 NORTH AMERICAN INDIANS
  • ART 002 INTERACTIVE LEARNING AND WEB DESIGN
  • ART 003 VISUAL IMAGES ON THE WEB
  • COMM 160 BASIC NEWS WRITING SKILLS
