There are several places to discuss online education at Penn State. Feel free to join one…or all…of them. These communities are designed for use by all members of the Penn State community.
The IDea Exchange
The IDea Exchange is an informal discussion-based session hosted by World Campus Learning Design meant to give us all the opportunity to share ideas and learn from one another. Each monthly IDea Exchange will focus on a different topic and provide us with an opportunity to network with IDs within and across units who share our interests. During each session, we will briefly cover (I)nformation related to the topic, (D)iscuss how it relates to our work, (E)xplore examples from our courses, and (A)pply what we’ve learned and discuss how we can adapt to new situations. A space has been created in Microsoft Teams for the IDea Exchange, where they share session information, slides, and discussion notes. Feel free to join that team!

Online Learning Consortium (OLC) – OLC is a collaborative community of higher education leaders and innovators, dedicated to advancing quality digital teaching and learning experiences designed to reach and engage the modern learner.
University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) – UPCEA is the leading association for professional, continuing, and online education. The UPCEA Annual Conference is the most significant assembly of thought leaders and practitioners today in the field of professional, continuing, and online education. There are many Penn Staters actively involved in UPCEA, so we have created a Microsoft Teams space where we can connect and share UPCEA-related information. Within Teams, Penn Staters can click on the “Teams” area in the left menu and then “Join or Create Team” in the upper right, then enter the team code “aklrqn9” to join!
WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies (WCET) – WCET is the leader in the practice, policy, and advocacy of digital learning in higher education. WCET is a member-driven nonprofit that brings together colleges, universities, higher education organizations, and companies to collectively improve the quality and reach of technology-enhanced learning programs. The WCET Annual Meeting brings together diverse perspectives and pragmatic solutions to digital learning in higher education.
